As They Rode Along the Edge
2023
photographic print on fabric (dye-sublimation), other fabrics, batting, thread
82” x 35 ½”, photo: Sean Carroll

This piece is a triple homage. The knives came to me after seeing Tony Feher's mind-blowing sculpture Magnolia - the potential violence of cutting and the clarity of cutting through, the color and pattern reference the many nocturnal color schemes and repetition of forms in Rosie Lee Tomkins’ quilts, and the title is taken from a Leonora Carrington short story metioned in Ali Smith's Artful.
